Soft computing applications to multimedia and
telemedicine
RSCTC 2010 special session
Description:
Nowadays, applications of advanced computing technologies to multimedia more extensively consider the opportunities of data processing supported by soft computing. The domain of multimedia has an extensive demand for applications of intelligent data & signal processing. An important area of applications of artificial intelligence & soft computing algorithms is also decision making related to processing of medical data.Research experiments currently being carried out at various academic centres, encompass the implementation of artificial intelligence & soft computing methods to multimedia data acquisition, processing, identification, restoration, verification, and evaluation. The problems posed here are being resolved with the use of the rough set method, neural networks and also with the use of fuzzy logic, genetic algorithms, decision trees and many other soft computing driven algorithms.
The papers presented at the special session will demonstrate a summarized presentation of some up-to-date methods of intelligent data analysis, which were studied in context of various practical applications, such as: video scene analysis, multimodal man-machine interfacing, medical image analysis, biometric identification, virtual reality, traffic monitoring & control, and others.
